Mood tagging iTunes

I remember when Potion Factory released Tangerine. The idea was cool, using BPMs to organize music. The problem was, the execution just never worked very well. I wanted it to separate out my really upbeat intense music and and slow and mellow music, but it didn’t do a great job. The process is just too difficult to automate. However, I think I finally found the app that’s handling this the right way.
Moody is an app I just came across that allows you to tag your music on a scale from Sad to Happy(left to right) and Calm to Intense(bottom to top), on a colored grid. With the colored grid, one can choose degrees of happinesses or intensity. For me, this is perfect! Spoon can be Calm and Happy, Sigur Ros can be Calm and Sad, Every Time I Die can be Happy and Intense, and Isis can be Intense and Sad. So once you tag your songs according to your mood, move over to the listen tab, and select your range of moods, which doesn’t have to be just one square on the grid.
I’ve been looking for something like for a long time, and I’m so happy I found it. Thank you Crayon Room! It is mac only by the way, so just get a mac already!
