I launched the new look today. I thought it might take a little longer, but I figured I might as well put it up now, and then spend the next few days fiddling with the code. So far the blog is completely functional, the XHTML is valid, and the portfolio is almost finished. Contact needs to be styled, and About is on it’s way.
I’ve tried a few new things as well. I’ve added a section called aside. It’s basically just a spot for me to post interesting links I find around the net. I’ve also tried playing with the new text-shadow property. Right now you’ll only be able to see it in Safari. I’m sure Firefox 3 will be supporting it too. Either way though, the site isn’t disabled in any way if you’re using Firefox 2 or Camino, and in case you were wondering about websites looking the same in every browser….
If you see any bugs, let me know. Feel free to leave a comment. Hope you like the new look.
@David That is still left over from the last design. I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep it or not yet.
Hey Matt nice design, but why did you set your body bground property transparent? (i think also form validation tips should look more…red :) )
I like the new theme except i feel like your footer should completely touch the bottom. But that’s just the newb web designer inside me
@Mirza I agree. You just caught a margin i missed. Thanks for noticing, i just fixed it.
Love the new design…OH! And the live comment preview is pretty sweet too!
I’m looking at it on IE6, so I really can’t say much. One thing though, the sideblog looks kinda like AdSense ads… is it just me?
Thanks Jaime and @Jonathan that’s actually not a bad point. I added a few little touches to hopefully change that.
I like the bold design. The comments look especially unique. Hate to nit-pick (I realize all the nit-picking you’ve already endured turning this design over) but the line-spacing is a bit tight, considering the small font-size. I just want to squeeze in a bit of a margin in between the link list, the footer text.
But that’s nit picking. This is a great TXP site.
Hey Matt, this looks great! I’ve got several sites up on media temple now and each have a different cms (txp, symphony, wordpress, drupal). I’m trying to play around with each one, but it seems txp is coolest… at least for me. If you have any sample code or other tips on getting up to speed with txp, let me know. I really like thebignoob.com and they use symphony, but I really like your new look here. Great work, man!
@David I’d be happy to write up some tutorials and post them here. If you have anything specific you’d like to know, let me know.
“Get down, get down,” an old man in the same room said, sheltering behind a dusty desk. Others crouched behind cars.
Then more shooting erupted from the direction of a hospital on a square just behind the academy. One sweating young fighter buried his head in his hands.
Thanks for taking the time to talk about this,I take pleasure in learning about this topic. Please, as you gain information, please update this blog with more information.
The actual stylish, processed, easy mindset in the direction of existence, putting an emphasis on style flavor. Much more low cost moncler jackets for women and men, greatest support and quick shipping for you.
I am really enjoying reading your well written articles. It looks like you spend a lot of effort and time on your blog. I have bookmarked it and I am looking forward to reading new articles. Keep up the good work!
I have read a number of posts of yours, but this is the one that I like the most. So expecting some more ideas from your side. Thanks !
